Honey I Shrunk the Werewolf by Dakota Cassidy

File Size:  222 KB

“I’m a what?”
“A werewolf.”
“A werewolf who can’t remember he’s a werewolf because he has amnesia.”

That pretty much sums it up. The timing couldn’t be worse, too. Just when the pain of booting her asshat of a husband to the curb has started to lessen, Ella gets stuck babysitting his hairy amnesiac ass. Well . . . she is a psychiatric nurse, after all. In exchange for helping Crosby rediscover his inner werewolf, Ella has the pack’s word she’ll be granted a divorce. She’ll be free to move on. Maybe continue the Twitter flirtation she’s got going with @Hairofthedog. Hey, it’s a start.

But Crosby isn’t playing fair. No longer the Grand Poobah of Douchebaggery, with his memories gone, he’s more the charming, fun-loving man Ella fell in love with. How’s she supposed to hate him when he keeps smiling and charming and, oh yeah, screwing her six ways to Sunday? Though Ella’s body is game for more physical therapy, her mind hasn’t forgotten his betrayal. Crosby will need a damn fine excuse for what he’s done.

As it turns out, he has one-and it’s a doozy.

Shannon’s Review: Crosby has amnesia. He doesn’t know who he is or that he’s even a werewolf. Ella, the beautiful, snarky woman who claims to be his babysitter, says he has to come home with her so she can help him deal with his amnesia and the ins and outs of being a werewolf. Even with his amnesia, he knows there’s something about Ella that he craves.

Ella, rushes to Crosby’s aide when she hears he’s been hurt and without his memory. She agrees to a deal with the Pack if she helps them out with the Crosby situation. She’s just not sure how she’s going to deal with the amnesiac Crosby. He may not remember her or the events of the past six months, but she does…painfully. But Crosby has a way of breaking down her barriers, especially when he’s laughing and turning the charm on her and acting very much like the man she fell in love with all those years ago.

This was an engaging, laugh-out-loud short story that left you truly wishing there was more to Crosby and Ella’s story. Ella and Crosby’s chemistry grabs you right from the very beginning and has you hoping they find their way back to a happily ever after.

Sarah’s Review: Honey I Shrunk the Werewolf is a fast paced, sexy, funny story about a guy and a girl who had a communication issue. Ella is funny and strong willed but jumped the gun too quickly and didn’t give Crosby a chance to tell his side of the situation. Crosby is definitely someone I’d want to get to know better. He’s sexy, kind hearted and loyal to the bone. The chemistry between Ella and Crosby is hella hot and not corny at all. I like the idea of @Hairofthedog as well – she really had no clue. The mystery/action element to the story is written well also. I like Cassidy’s snarky attitude when writing female protagonists. I also think she has a awesomely wicked sense of humor in her stories. The story is easy to read, fast paced and very enjoyable.

The One by Lora Leigh

Publisher: Ellora’s Cave
Page Count: 64
Source: ebook provided by the publisher

Brenna’s love for Jase has grown from a crush to a soul-searing need, a painful hunger . . . and an unrequited ache, because the savagely sexy Texan doesn’t feel the same. A bequest and stipulation in his father’s will have hardened Jase, it seems. Now she must endure three months of living under his roof. Three torturous, tension-filled months and Brenna will have fulfilled the stipulation; will be free to attempt to regain the heart lost to Jase so long ago.

Since the age of eighteen, Jase has protected Brenna-from himself, as much as anyone else. Living with her proves too rousing even for his iron will. He’ll claim what’s his, take Brenna in ways he’d previously only dreamed, sink so deeply inside her luscious body he’ll never find his way out. And be damned if he’ll let her go.

A scorching Texas summer can’t compete with blazing lust as Brenna gives in, gives over, gives all that she is to Jase, to the only man she’s every loved . . . to the one (Goodreads)

Review: The One is a fast paced, wicked hot short read. Brenna knows the immediate future isn’t going to be the most fun, but she endures what’s coming to make sure Jase gets what she thinks he deserves. She’s been harboring feelings for just about ever and doing what needs doing is extremely hard on her. Jase is about the biggest d-bag when the story starts. He’s horrible to Brenna, but she continues on her path. The chemistry and tension is felt right off the bat with these two, and holy cow is it tense. I felt the story could have been a whole lot longer. Lora Leigh has a way of making a reader want to read on and on forever about her characters and I wanted more.

Publisher: ACE Fantasy
Page Count: 323

Boston’s diverse South End is known for its architecture and great restaurants, not its body count. So when mutilated human corpses begin turning up in the area, the entire city takes notice. The killer—dubbed the South End Reaper—uses a curved blade for his grisly work. And even though there’s no real evidence pointing to a paranormal culprit, the deaths are straining the already-tense relations between Boston’s human and inhuman residents.

As the bodies pile up, Vicky, her formidable aunt Mab, and her werewolf boyfriend Kane investigate, only to find that the creature behind the carnage is after something much more than blood… (Goodreads)

Review:  Bloodstone is an excellent addition to the Deadtown series. I think the world the author has created is unique and deeply interesting. I positively enjoy all the paranormal elements created in this series. The writing is action packed, fast paced and easily read. I had a hard time putting this down once I started it and was disappointed when I finished because I wanted it to keep going and going.

I love Victory. She’s a take no sass, kick-A, spunky chick. She’s also a strong, capable, independent character. I also adore Kane. He’s definitely the kind of guy I’d want on my side if needed. Their relationship is growing and turning into something more meaningful to the two of them though I’d like to see more romance and hot lovin’.

I’m looking forward to the next installment and hopefully finding out what happened to Juliet.

Chase and Seduction by Randi Alexander
Series: Cowboy Kink
Release Date: May 26, 2011
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press
Source: review copy provided by publisher

Country music superstar/actor Chase Tanner has yet to be denied anything-and he’s never wanted anything or anyone more than gorgeous screenplay writer Reno Linden. So when the film they are working on is finally finished, Chase decides to turn up the volume on seducing Reno.

Reno Linden lived a quiet, rural life until she was thrust into the Hollywood scene when her book was adapted to film. Chase Tanner is larger than life, sinfully sexy and hell-bent on getting her into bed. Skittish after a failed engagement, Reno risks the plunge into Chase’s arms, and is surprised that her good girl self can keep up with bad boy Chase.

Though Chase returns to his cowboy roots often, and Reno cherishes the time spent with him on his ranch, the two find their careers pulling them in different directions. Will their attraction survive the glitz and stress of fame?

Review:  Chase and Seduction is a hot, steamy read. Reno is quiet, reserved and has wanted Chase from the day they met. I like her character, but I get frustrated when she won’t allow herself to see the potential relationship right in front of her face. Chase – known for being a player – is passionate, wicked hot and so far fallen he can’t control himself. He knew the day he met Reno that she was something special and hadn’t been with a woman since. I like his determination and drive. He’s definitely someone I think would be easy to fall for.

I didn’t agree with Reno when she went to Europe. I feel she signed up as a way to run away from her issues and went to not have to face what was going on between the two of them. I also didn’t think she should have kept such a big secret form Chase. I kind of hated Chase in the dressing room scene, but he wasn’t a d-bag for too long. Both characters matured and worked through their major issues well in this story.

The story was well written, with only a few typos and wording issues. I think the author did a great job. Reno and Chase’s chemistry is insane and the sexual tension before they seal the deal is tense. I liked the dialogue and the descriptions weren’t overly wordy. Chase and Seduction hooked me the moment I opened it and didn’t disappoint!

Favorite Quote: He grinned. “You came to save me?”
“Yeah. No. I’m…” Scared? Horny? Jumpy? Tempted?
“Confused?”
“Yes!” What a relief. He understood her. Evidently, during all the talks they’d shared, he’d been listening to her.

Hi!  I’m Sarah H.  I’ve been married for almost 17 years; I am 33 years old and I have 2 kids (7 & 14).  My husband and I have lived in Colorado, Michigan, Mexico, Alabama and Georgia.  Currently we live in West Georgia, but are trying to make our way north again soon.  I have 1 dog and 5 cats.   Right now, I’m working as a part-time substitute job coach for developmentally disabled persons and persons with mental health issues.  I also work occasionally at the local used bookstore in town as well as maintain their website.

I love, love, love to read.  I like to read and review: Paranormal Romance, Erotica (usually paranormal and romantic suspense), Urban Fantasy, Menage (m/m/f/ or m/f/m usually), Western Romance (cowboys rock), Teen Paranormal and Contemporary Romance.  I really don’t like to read Historical Romance, especially Regency era.  I don’t like to read non-fiction, anything religious or mystery/adventure – I like to stick to romance.

I started my blog, Escape by Fiction, in January on which I post reviews of books I’ve read and a few other tidbits.  I also post my reviews on Goodreads, Facebook and Twitter.  Check out my blog on Sinful Sundays to check out some good-looking eye candy and say hello.
